General Dynamics Land Systems – Australia

General Dynamics Land Systems – Australia (GDLS-A) is the Australian representative of GDLS, the Prime Systems Integrator for the Abrams M1 family of Main Battle Tanks. GDLS, in cooperation with the US Government and various global sub-systems and component OEMs, design and manufacture versions of the Abrams M1 for sale through the US Foreign Military Sales program.

GDLS-A, through its relationship with US-based GDLS, provides the Australian sovereign capabilities to access and manage technical data, intellectual property and global capabilities relevant to the sustainment and upgrade of the Australian Heavy Armoured fleets, along with protecting these cutting edge foreign-sourced and controlled technologies.

The Heavy Armoured Capability System proposed to meet the requirements of the Tank Assurance and Combat Engineering Vehicle programs in the Force Structure Review 2020 will provide the opportunity for GDLS-A to play a leading role in the support Enterprise which will include key equipment OEMs and industry partners to provide best-in-class fleet sustainment, performance and availability.

GDLS-A will continue to support the ADF’s plans to develop optimised Australian Industry sustainment capabilities, where efficiencies and value for money can be demonstrated, for current and future Heavy Armoured capabilities.

Precision Metal Group

Precision Metal Group (PMG) started in January 2000. As the business evolved, we developed the Mechanical, Structural & Welding Engineering departments achieving significant certifications with ISO 3834-2, DIN 2303, EN 15085, ISO 27001 and DISP certifications making us currently the only company in Australia with this complete combination of certifications.

Achieving the new certifications has allowed PMG to successfully completing client pre-qualification enabling PMG to operate in the Defence supply chain with many programs including Thales & Rheinmetall specifically for the LAND-400 phase 2 project.
