Land Forces 2024 has drawn to a close as a record-breaking event, with a 15 per cent higher attendance than the previous record-breaking event in 2022.
Additionally, the larger Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre allowed the exhibition to grow almost a third larger than the previous Land Forces.
“Not only has this been the biggest and the best Land Forces yet, it is also the largest defence exposition ever held in Australia,” said Justin Giddings, CEO of Land Forces 2024 organiser AMDA Foundation.
“We've had record numbers of delegates and an impressive 995 exhibiting companies from 31 countries around the world.”
From the opening breakfast to the exhibition floor, conferences, industry dinner and networking functions, feedback confirms that the event achieved its goal of being an effective engagement platform for the Australian and international land defence community.
“Everybody I've spoken to has been absolutely thrilled with the response and the presence,” Justin Giddings said.
“The undoubted success of this event is the result of a very strong partnership between the Victorian Government, Australian Army, our sponsors, defence industry participants and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre staff and management. Together with our own AMDA team we have managed to successfully stage a world-class event.
“Much of this success has been due to the Chief of Army's decision to bring his symposium to Land Forces this year, and we have been proud to support him in this endeavour.
We also thank the State Government of Victoria for its support and cooperation in bringing this important event to Melbourne.
“There have of course been some challenges. We acknowledge that the protests have caused angst to many people around Melbourne and we offer our sincere gratitude to the Victorian Police, supported by their team of federal and other state police officers, for their first-class planning and response to the public order challenges over the past few days.
“We look forward to seeing everyone in Melbourne for Land Forces 2026.”
